Hey Guys I'm definatly a "Neweby" & I'm setting up my first "real" Heli & am confused.

The heli is a Revo CP electric from Hobby Lobby. Anyway in setting up the radio I went by the heli manual & all works good I think if you want to stay in Idle up. On my 9C I set the stick to center dialed 0 pitch in, +7 at full foward stick & -7 at full back. I'm sticking with the generic recomendations & defalt setting in the Tx for now 0 25 50 75 & 100 on the pitch curve. Now when I got to normal mode to get it to work at what I think is right for 0 pitch at low stick & +7 at full I had to put pitch curves in the normal mode such as 50, 60, 70, 85 & 100. Does this sound right? it dosent to me but as I said I'm a neweby. (I realize the #'s may have to change but are a starting point)

To me it seems in Idle up it should be something like

100
50
0
-50
-100
and in normal the 0, 25, 50, 75 & 100 rather than Idle up 0 25 50 75 100 then 50 60 70 85 100 in normal.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Steve

Yes, is the answer....

If you have -7 at 0 and the +7 at 100, then 0pitch will be at 50%. Ok

I'm not as familiar with the 9C as I need to be, but it seems that you can adjust the servo travel for each flight mode:
Normal Mode; 0 degrees at low stick, 7-10 degrees at high stick limited by ATV on low end.
Idle Up Mode; -10 degrees low stick, zero degrees midstick, and +10 degrees high stick.
The beginning of all setup should be to achieve the maximum pitch without binding (mechanically) then adjust to your desired pitch electronically.

I've been taught to setup mechanically as described above, and for newbies limit upper and lower pitch electronically. This is an easliy replicatable setup (read: rebuild after crash). Do all mechanical setup in idle up, then limit ONLY normal to the beginners' settings. When you decide to move to acrobatics, the basics are already there, just adjust the radio to suit...

Thanks Guys, I have everything set-up correctly mechanically & have limited my servo travel to the correct pitch with endpoints it just that in Normal mode should I have to start at 50 on the pitch curve to get 0 pitch?

If you are looking for a symmetrical pitch setup, in any mode 50% on the pitch should be 0 degrees. O% and 100% change with ATV's, swash AFR, etc, but 50% is 0.

Don't worry about trying to understand it all at once Steve. It is imp[ossible to take it all in at one time. It takes a long time, im ny case a really long time for it to sink in. ;)

Nice to see you at the Sheep yesterday. Seeya soon!!
