Hey Guys I'm definatly a "Neweby" & I'm setting up my first "real" Heli & am confused.

The heli is a Revo CP electric from Hobby Lobby. Anyway in setting up the radio I went by the heli manual & all works good I think if you want to stay in Idle up. On my 9C I set the stick to center dialed 0 pitch in, +7 at full foward stick & -7 at full back. I'm sticking with the generic recomendations & defalt setting in the Tx for now 0 25 50 75 & 100 on the pitch curve. Now when I got to normal mode to get it to work at what I think is right for 0 pitch at low stick & +7 at full I had to put pitch curves in the normal mode such as 50, 60, 70, 85 & 100. Does this sound right? it dosent to me but as I said I'm a neweby. (I realize the #'s may have to change but are a starting point)

To me it seems in Idle up it should be something like

100
50
0
-50
-100
and in normal the 0, 25, 50, 75 & 100 rather than Idle up 0 25 50 75 100 then 50 60 70 85 100 in normal.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Steve

What are your endpoints set on for the pitch channel (6) Steve?

The endpoints are set at 26 for both low & high stick & I have 7 deg of pitch at both ends & 0 in the middle. Since the endpoints were the same I assumed I had a pretty good symmetrical set up. The manual recommended 10mm from the center of the servo arm to center of the ball link & thats where I put it. Would it be recommended to change the mechanical set up to get the endpoints closer to the full travel (100% on the endpoints) or will this be ok?

Thanks for all the input guys,
Steve

:D Did you set the end points on the pitch for the extremes of the mechanical movements? :? You have to do that first. Then you can setup the pitch curves.

I set the servo at center, center stick on TX & 0 pitch on the blades. Then set the endpoints for achieved pitch.

I would suggest moving the ball in towards the center on the pitch(collective) servo wheel.

With the endpoints at 26 each end. The servo is not using much of its resolution band. I would move the ball in at least half of the distance it is now . You will not have to reset 0 at center. Just re-adjust the end points to give you the pitch range you desire.

Thanks Guys,
The manual said to make the distance from center to the ball link 10 mm & thats where I put it. I guess they just picked something easy to do with the Tx. rather than having someone go through the machanical part.

We can get together and I will do the best I can with it Steve. Call me if you need help sorting it out.

RS rogers did it in reverse order. You should do the end points to keep the servo from binding first keeping the end point numbers as close as possable like 90% at low stick and 90% at high stick. Then do the pitch curve. Otherwise you can wind up with an eratic picth curve.

Thanks Guys,

Next good day a Black sheep I'll bring it with me Will & we can smoke it over.
I got it off the ground & it seems to hover pretty good. Set it down & being winter the grass is a little uneven & tall & took out the gear in the tail so I'm ordering a belt for it.
