I will have my hacker programmer at the Sheep this weekend Matt. We can get you all fixed up real quick. Glad to see you are trying an electron only machine.

Cool, it will take about 2 minutes maximum to program.
I have learned to carry my programming box with me. ;)

I have also just received a hacker 77-0 - H for use with a Neumotor 1521.
I cannot get a slow startup with the combination. The slow start I get with the 77, which I have selected via the program box, is the same start as when I tested the motor with my Hacker ACRO-90. I may be disappointed as I can't see any reason for using the 77-0-H, and I purchased it specifically for the heli.
The motor ramps up very quickly compared to the Aligh ESC in my Trex.
Am I expecting too slow a start.
Do you select logarithmic for the throttle or linear. Also do you need to be in Governor mode for the slow startup?
Otherwise the Motor ESC run sweetly and I cannot believe how quite and smooth it is. Hoping to do a first hover in a few days. I have gone from a Trex to an Ion-X, so I am taking things slowly and methodically. I do have alot of electric experience with F3A pattern.
Thanks for any help.

You have something set incorrectly in the control or it is the wrong control or it is messed up or your radio is not set correctly...there I narrowed it right down. The 77-O-heli ramps up quite slow and smooth. Use these settings:
Type: Heli
Controller type: M-77-O-H
Heli mode: Normal
Timing: 0
Frequency: 8 KHz
Acceleration: soft
Accumulator type: Li-ion/Li-pol
Number of cells: 10
LiIo/Po cut off V per cell: 3
Initial point: Automatic
End point: Automatic
Throttle curve: Linear
Rotation: Whatever you wiring needs
Timing monitor: On
Aside from these things, make sure your ATV's are out all the way. Use a quick ramp between points 1 and 2 on your normal curve to about 80%. Then a flat line across the screen at 80%. For idleups, set the end points at 100%, the 1/4 and 3/4 points at 90 to 95% and the middle point at 80 to 90%. These can of course be tailored a little, but those numbers will get you very close. Your hold should be 0 all the way across.
Never pump the throttle, start ups should be a smooth movement of the collective stick to the middle and then wait for the headspeed to come up. Alternately, from a dead stop, you can just flip into idleup1, raise the collective to 0, wait for the head and then go fly...this is what I do.
When performing autos, NEVER EVER bail out. Finish the auto and make certain the motor stops spinning before flipping out of hold.
Hope this helps
Chris

Also, when you use the Hacker programmer, you have to make sure it makes the beep after each setting. I have found this sometimes takes a couple times scrolling through the options. If no beep is heard, no new setting is saved in the ESC, whether you changed the parameter or not, it is not saved untilyou hear the beep.

Thanks for the help Chris, excellent. I increased the ATV on throttle to +/- 150, and adjusted the throttle curve. I use JR radio gear. It seems to have helped. Will put the blades on the try it out thoroughly today.

Thanks for the info. I have found that to be the case more so with the H-77-O , than with the H-ACRO-90. I suspected that programming was not written to the ESC until a beep is made. It would be good if they mentioned that in the instructions.

Hi,
Just came across this post, not sure how think I was looking up Neu motor info
Anyway, Chris could you post what the settings would be (like you have a few posts up) if you are using the 32-3 or the Neu.
Thanks
Simon.

Believe it or not, you really don't have to change them. If you are using the 100 tooth gear with your Actro, you could increase the timing and get a little more headspeed at the expense of heat in the motor.
