Hi all,

Haven't been on HF for ages or been flying for while :( anyway got my Actro mounting kit a while back (thanks Bobby) so I need the motor now, who has them in stock at a good price ?

Gearing, anything new on the gearing ? i'm sure there was something about a new gear to reduce the headspeed, might be wrong though ? I've a 90t in the heli at the moment but got a 95t with the conversion kit.

Which do I use, or is there a new gear out ?

Nothing new on gearing simon but i have along wiht chris been running the NEU 1521/1.5y in are Ions wiht the 2 stage gearing and i personally like it alot better then then the Actro for flying 3d it has more torque then Actro does Take a look this was one of the first test flights since then i have it even more dialed in http://www.helifreak.com/post-82170.html&sid=6201e293f63ba19e9bd5fb4a89413a03#82170

I'm getting confused with this Ion gearing :oops:

The gear below the 'upper bevel gear' mine is a 90t this is the same with all Ion's and is not changable ?

Then the pinion which connects to this gear is a 15t again the same as above ?

Then it's the 'Secondary gear' mine is 54t but this one is changable ?

Then the pinion on the motor (Hacker) is a 15t, again this one is not changable and is stock on all Ion's ?

So if i was going to use the Actro, my mounting kit coame with a 10 tooth pinion but this would just mesh up onto the the gear below the 'upper bevel gear' so secondary gear is gone ?

If I was going to use the Neu motor the this just replaces the Hacker (still have secondary gear) do I use the 15t pinion from my hacker ? and is the 54t secondary ok ?

What the difference in headspeed between the Actro and Neu using the the above gearing I have ?

Hi simon if you are going to run the ACTRO you will run the 10 pinion and a 95 main gear ( sinlge stage)
I f you runt he Neu it drops right in to replace the hacker but the hot setup is running a 48 tooth secondary gear instead of the 54

Think I would like to try the Actro first. Does the 95t main gear lower or increase the headspeed over the 90t :? Is the 95t the only gear available to use with the Actro ?

Yea simon you want to run the 95 main gear wiht the actro
