Last weekend at Clints, this machine ROCKED! Yesterday at the Sheep it was WAY down on power and headspeed. I tried 2 different sets of packs and just for a reality check, I removed the second set of packs I flew it with for 3 minutes and installed them in my 32-3 Ion-X and they ROCKED for 9 more minutes. Definitely not the packs.
What could cause the power to be cut basically in half from one weekend to another, with absolutely no changes made to the heli ro the radio program??? :DOH
Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Is it possible you have the speed control in governor mode?

Nope, no surging at all. Been there and done that before. Just no power compared to the last flight.

Might try unplugging your motor wires and ohm test them and be sure none are crossing over.. Besides that all I know to do is start swapping stuff out one part at a time..

Thanks for the tip Rick. I am going to install my HV110 in it as soon as I get my chores done.
The weird part is this heli has a total of 4 complete flights on it. :arggg:

Hi will,
A few more things too check. Make sure the motor is not overheating and spins freely. Double check all throttle setting in both the speed control and your radio. If everything checks out it will most likely be the speed control.

i had this happen to me. my speed controller was the hacker and flew fine one day, all of a sudden i had half power. couldn't figure it out. tried new motor, packs and then i put my programmer back on the esc and somehow it switched back to number of cells 4. when i programmed it again it flew fine. no idea how it changed back.

I have reprogrammed it, just not had good enough weather or was working instead of flying.
I will report back, I hope that is what happened to me. Thansk for the HEads-Up

Problem solved. It was the Hacker 77-O-Heli ESC! Installed the HV-110 and the thing SCREAMS! Very impressed with the Neu setup. FOr some reason my Hacker ESC never has showed anywhere close to what this setup is capable of. CLint flew it yesterday and said it was the most fun E-Heli flight he has ever flown.
I take back all I ever said about the Actro spanking the NEU, I was wrong, this setup is HOT HOT HOT!!!

Is it the CC with the new software Will?

I downloaded and upgraded it when I did hte install. I set all the parms then tried it, and had to go back in and reverse the motor direction after hooking it up.
I really like the HV-110 so far. A lot more progressive startup when in N mode, and HOT as hell in non-gov mode at least. This NEU just came alive, I LOVE it! I am still not sold on 2 stage vs single stage though....yet..... The ability for me to strap on a pair of 6s packs and fly at any time is very cool to.

CC-HV110 = Fairly cheap ESC that can do 12s if you can find one anywhere. So far mine has worked well, kinda hard on secondaries though in airplane mode with a G3 RX.

Strange, I saw something similar today. The motor would drop to what seemed like half power for about 35s or so when loaded up, then suddenly the power would come back.
This heli has an Actro 32-3 w/ Hacker 77-O which replaced a CC HV-110 (out for minor repair) which was used all of last season with great success. This was the first flight with the 77-O.
I suspect the problem will go away when the HV-110 returns, but this kinda puzzling.
Ideas?

I gave up Rob, never did get anywhere near the power of the CC-110/NEU with the 77-O but Bobby does.....

...was reading Bobby's take on the 77-O / G3 Rx in the other thread - interesting.
When I flew the 77-O / Hacker 2 years ago I was using a 10x - last year spring I switched to the 14mz but didn't fly the Hacker Ion at all and the Actro Ion had a HV-110 from day one.
My other HV-110 should be back soon so I'll just wait.

I heard that Rob. It really sucks to have to spend a lot of maintenance time on an Ion, because maintenance is so easy without the vibs.

Maintenance - one of my Fury's developed a glitch tonight - I suspect the clitch driver bearing - you know what that means :arggg: .
The Ions seem to hold up soooo much better - way less wrenching.
