hello chaps, I`m new to this forum. I thought I`d tell you all out there with a wren turbine that I`m using an orbit controller to start up on kero!
It works very well, especially in the cold. Am I one of the first to do this, has any one else out there managed to kero start a wren?

Well Phil, welcome aboard. Good to see ya' on this side of the planet. Quite honestly, this is a welcome change. I'll betcha' we can talk about all kinds of neat turbine things over here.

By the way, thanks to Peter Rob, I achieved another milestone this evening...managed to tear apart and fix a fuel pump thanks to his sage advice. Hope he follows what I suspect is going to be a trend and joins us over here. :D

Glad you decided to come over, we will not have a problem disscussing what ever we choose here. Will doesn't play that game. And I can even promote the people I want to!!

Doc, I have a feeling it's going to get busy here.

Gary,
Well said and, by the way, Peter and I, due to shifting policies at the "other" site could not have discussed that in open forum. I strongly suspect that we will see a number of our UK friends here shortly. Quite honestly, and this will be the last time I say it, I think Mr. R has "rounded the bend," when I cannot even put the word Hobbyparts in a PM and I don't think that kind of philosphy belongs in our hobby. I don't fly nor am I affiliated with anyone (my preference) because I want to be able to both praise or bury good or bad products, however to wantonly "censor" people be they paid advertisers or not (and, I have even defended Mr. R's policy on occasion to keep peace in the neighborhood) is patently wrong and goes against my grain.

And, I owe Will a big apology because I had migrated over to the "other" site because of some uncertainty about HeliFreak a few months back...that's not said in a bad way...HeliFreak has always been a dynamite site and I am here to stay exclusively now...should have stayed in the first place to my chagrin.

You guys are very welcome over here and you can discuss anything you want. Thanks for coming over. This site is going to be here to stay, I have found all the help I need and there are people ready to step in and take over in the event I have to exit, which hopefully will not ever happen.

Welcome all Turbine Flyers!! Spread the word and the experience, I see more and more people interested in Turbine's, especially since the Bergen has been flying.

Will,
Absolutely fantastic to see and hear you again...didn't know what to say or how to say it for awhile and sorry I didn't just stay heer to hear "the rest of the story."

Everyone is and has always been welcomed with "open arms" here and the gospel is again being spread.

Best to you, Will and to your beautiful bride and son. You all have always been in our hearts, thoughts and prayers...just did not know how to say it.

Now, on to Birmingham and sometime soon, I hope, back to Blacksheep.
Doc

P.S. Gary, we will always be able to find each other, shipmate!

I know Doc, I can look forward to some interesting discssions here without fear Of retaliation. Many of the different people whether representing a certain company or not have alot to offer.
Pesicution due to what a person says or is affiliated with is where it ends, maybe next we can start burning people at the stake.
With my about to kick off hobby buisness almost ready to go I need to be around the "normal folks"

Gary,
You sound as if you're getting into something most of us can only dream about. Hopefully, by the end of this year, I will only be doing turbines and, mostly scale. Have now been back in the hobby for almost 4 years, wandering around to see where I fit in and turbines and scale have been the downfall for both my satisfaction and wallet...my most recent addition, having been "little brother's" Zealous, which is promptly going into the Long Ranger fuse. All kinds of good stuff going on. Wish you luck in your endeavor with the hobby shop.

I always figured you to be a turbine person, I really miss the scale side of things as that is where I started. Hopefully I will be in a position to get back that way soon. You must be pretty excited about the Zealous.
I have a few projects to keep me busy for awhile. And a few ideas for some new stuff which with a little luck will open some new areas. I figure the last idea I had for something new seems to have worked out well so why not try again!

Hello everyone,

Just to let you know that I'm here too. I signed up some time ago, to congratulate a new Bergen/Wren owner. As our customers know, it is company policy not to post unless we have something important to say (no frivolous posts) so I shan't be posting often, but I shall certainly be watching and listening. We will always be happy to answer questions - although I'm the one who writes the posts, the Wren Team (Mike, Roger, Terry, John, Richard, Steve, Gavin and Ian the Helicopter Pilot) are the experts.

I beleive you will see a great response her on this site, I have always bee lurking aroun here. Although not the expert I will offer up any advise based on my experiences. With a product like Wren it is hard to gain technical knowledge, if only my Wren would give me trouble i might gain knowledge faster!!
You need to make a turbine that breaks so we can learnfaster!!! Then again I will opt to learn slowly and keep flying what I believe to be the best darn turbine helicopter system in the world.

My "fairy Godmother" has arrived (said as a supreme compliment)! And, our "long-distance pit crew (the Wren Team)." All I can say about this bunch is that they are about the best around...."ask and ye shall be answered."

Now if "little brother" adds a line or two, we'll have the entire gang! Think he's probably still asleep, resting up from his arduous week...

Now, looking back on this thread, we got the "three turbine stooges (Greg, Gary and Doc)," a "fairy Godmother (Sara)," and a "pit crew (worthy of the best of NASCAR)," so we should be set.

As I told the individual who "owns" the site and, supposedly the hobby, I have said my goodbyes. Lots of folks are headed this way in the background.

Good morning Doc, Looks like folks are finding there way for sure. More than likely this will become the best forum for turbine info with the group here now and those to come
