We're you playing any music? Was battery running low? What version of the software are you running? Did you notice any effect on actual radio usage, i.e. controlling a model?

Nop, no music at all. I never download the music to my 14mz. The battery shown about 89. I don't know what's the version of the software, I am not with my radio right now, but I download the software about month and a half ago.

Thanks,

Strange, so did the radio stop working completely? Were you running a model off the CF or on-board memory?

Yeb, the raido just stop working completely and I have to turn off and on again. The second time the screen was blank for about 8 seconds then the menu came on again. But this happen only when I go into difference menu. But not while I am flying(better not). I run a model of on board memory.

Sounds like a screen problem. You may have to send the radio to your service center for repair. If it is a USA purchased radio, you send it to Hobby Services and the address and info should have been included with your radio.

This is the 1st I have heard of your problem, but things are bound to go wrong with a few radio's from time to time. Sorry to hear about your problem. I know Hobby Services has been VERY good at fixing issues and getting people back up to 100% in short order.

I will give it a try again on Thurs and will send it to Futaba Services after that.

Thank you,

That is good that they immediately accepted the problem and offered a fix from the first call. Gotta love that!!!

That is fantastic to hear. Only recently have I really started "getting to know" my 14MZ and, quite honestly, there ain't enough money to pry it out of my hands now. I was leery of the touch screen after having to change my 10X screen three times, however, so far I am "tickled to death" with the 14MZ display. And, absolutely no problem with getting the turbines set up either, using the 14MZ.

For Eric...the JR's make good "dust collectors." Now (hope wolfmom doesn't see this) thinking about a second one.

Getting things fixed by hobby services has been going very well according to the people that I know that sent the radio in for repair. Things happen, and that screen is going to take the brunt of the punishment. I know of a few that have broken the display, but they where repaired in short order and returned good as new. Can not ask for a lot more than that.

Eric,
I know some folks have had issues, however I have always found Barb and the folks at Hobby Services to be just great! Yes, I have experienced some long turnarounds, however when I have, it has also been everyone else experiencing a similiar problem. Knock on wood, other than the problems I have managed to induce, the 14MZ has been right there everytime and, other than on expo's (private joke there :arggg: ), it will just about keep you out of trouble with regard to programming. Comforting to hear good turnarounds on the screen issues.

notorious, The screen is completely blank ?

If the screen is blank you need to mail the radio to hobby services for repair as they can not replace it via email. Repairs normally only take a day or two and they ship it right back.

I realize you are in israel, but if the radio was purchased here you have a USA receipt and the USA vendor will need to repair the radio.

HS is always very responsive on the flagship radio -

I have already cracked a screen by a bit toooooo much pressure in the upper right corner during spline curve setups. You might find that doing the screen calibration helps prevent different pressure needs at different areas of the screen ... my screen was defective however.

I did have some weird anomalies like screen blanking out prior to doing the software update. Since the update - no problems at all.

Get a copy of the Receipt from the place you bought it from. All vendors can get you another copy if they are reputable vendors. Let HS fix it under warranty.

I would think if they asked for a receipt that some type of communication was exchanged. So I guess they didn't ignore your emails.
I believe that you can give them the serial number off the transmitter and Hobby Services can tell if the radio was distributed by them to a North America dealer.
The Futaba Flyers Club on www.14mz.com is where the updates are posted for the 14MZ radio. You have to be a registered member of the Futaba Flyers club to gain access to the forum. When you call and talk to Hobby Services, mention the Futaba Flyers Club and they should be able to set up your membership.

The radio's are all coded so as long at it is a USA code radio getting it repaired is not an issue. They will not touch a NON-USA radio though from what I have been told by very senior sources.

You have to send in the registration card before you can join the Futaba Flyers Club for the updates.

R-4-L, besides your obvious issue with Microsoft is there any value in your post?

The radio's have been out for quite some time now and it is very clear that all of the negative comments about the use of Win CE operating system where false.
