I have a thunder tiger (looks exactly like hobbico) starter that turns my R30 v2 very good. But It's useless with my 90! What are you guys using?
Thanks.

Try a 4S lipo on it. Even cheapo starters work well on 4S.

I already tryed a 4s 2200. battery leads got hot and barely turned it. @14.8 volt

Sure you're not flooding the engine during fuel up ? - I found out the hard way that very few (any?) fuel clips completely block off the inlet so when pumping in fuel small amounts seep by and hydraulically lock the engine - try tilting the heli left 45° (towards the muffler) and then turning it over. I use a modified surgical haemostat to TOTALLY block off the fuel line

I dont even have fuel in it. I squirted some light oil in the cylender and blew it out with the starter and through the exaust hole for lube so it would not be dry. Put the plug to test compression and the starter. Well i'ts got pleanty of compression. Should I just get a dynatron? I have seen some that use nicads i think. I even tryed with my truck battery and it was turning about 10-15 rpms on gov display.

that light oil is probably the culprit

+1 and you might find your glow plug gets fouled and engine runs rough from this

I am running the elcheapo hobbico with my own home brewed 4s lipo, custom machined wood blocks, and some metal support staps used to secure a garage door opener. Will turn my YS91SR over all day long without fail.
I have taken it apart several times just to ensure it isn't eating the brushes...it isn't. Doesn't appear to be putting much stress on it at all. Super cheap and works great.
I believe the sullivan starter shaft cost me more than the starter setup :)

If it's a new engine , try starting it with the plug loose for the first few times.
Just a turn or 2 , once running tighten back up.
I have a 4s 3150 pack that whips it over like nothing, sullivan 12v yellow starter.

Many pilots are switching to a very small starter made by Flight Leader. It costs 20 bucks and on a 3S or 4S lipo will start pretty much anything.
Either your starter is dead or you motor is hydralocked.
Take out the glow plug, spin the motor a few times, if your starter can't do that than it's toast or your motor is fouled.

Seriously though, no need to buy an expensive starter! I think $40 is the most I'd ever spend. I run the Torq Master 180 w/ a homemade 4S. That combo would prolly start my lawnmower.

That Hobbico 180 works great on 4s. Starts my OS91 no problem. Just don't try powering through a hydrolock.

Ahhh come on!!! You didn't like my Block-O-Wood idea. Doesn't seem to be catching on like I had hoped. Another business idea down the tubes.
