As the title says, would there be any real problem with importing an X9303 to the UK for use here, as it is so much cheaper than buying the DSX9 in the UK (EU version of the X9303 - sort of).

Best price I can find in the UK for a DSX9 is £490 delivered, and that is after some pushing. Local shop where I have bought quite a lot of stuff will not go below £550, even for a cash payment! I can get the X9303 for around £350 delivered, which is a big difference. Even if I was unlucky enough to get hit with VAT (sales tax sometimes applied to an import) it would still be cheaper.

I don't know a lot about it, but I heard somewhere there was some sort of restriction on the wattage that 2.4 could transmit across the pond....but I'm no expert. Hopefully someone who knows can chime in.

It is not legal. The US version doesn't meet UK requirements.

Some flying fields WILL check.

How annoying. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if these are UK requirements or EU imposed requirements?

In addition, I am told that a 12X from the US can be used legally in the UK. Any reason why this would be ok but the X9303 would not be ok?

So, I asked JR the same question and they told me that I could use the X9303 or the 12X in the UK. I have that in writing from them. Any comments?

EDIT: To be precise, I contacted JR but just checked and the answer came from Horizon.

Horizon, aka JR USA, doesn't know what is legal or not in the UK.
