I am wondering whats the best way to assemble the SE canopy? I have never had 2 peice canopy. Also, just signing in as I have a G4 frame. Hopefully going to get the first flight in tonight.

Scott,
If the two piece canopy is made of Lexan. Then the best way to put the two halves together is Shoe Goop. Any other kind of silicone adhesive will work also.
Smear a bead on one halve the flange. Then put the two halves together aligned up properly. Clip clothes pins around the edge to hold it.
That is how we use the put together canopy halves.

Thanks David, How have you been?
This one is made of some kind of ABS plastic so I guess it would work the same. I just don't want to see the seam if I don't have too but I guess thats a lost cause.

Scott,
I have been doing good.
Yes the Shoe Goo, Zap a dap a goo, silicone type adhesive should work on the ABS just fine also.
Even if it is the type canopy where the seam is overlapping type deal. I don't know of anyway to hide the seam. If it is the overlapping type, you might hide it some with a piece of trim tape on it like a racing stripe. <G>

I just use an XL fiber canopy on mine... I prefer these canopies, not for looks specifically, but because they are tough... so my hamfisted attempts at 3D don't destroy a canopy when they go wrong.
I'd buy a fiber canopy from Charley if he offered one but I guess they are pretty expensive to tool up and make....

Well....... not expensive just somewhat time consuming to lay up labor cost to prohibitive for most T-Rex flyers but....... I have been tinkering with some new materials which should make a nice light and durable "One piece" canopy price may be reasonable too :happyd more to follow

I would be extremely interested if a one-piece canopy was released for the G4!
