I am setting up this radio for a friend and I am noticing that their instructions have room for improvement. There is no explanation for many of the new setup knobs and buttons for example the “Volume LD, CD, RD” what is it use for and how is it used? Am I missing the paperwork to this? I am also looking and somewhat confused on servo reversing it looks that you can reverse servos in many different ways. For example “Swash AFR” you can reverse travel in this area or go to the servo reversing switches. My question is Does it matter what is switched for the reversing, is one better that the other. There defiantly needs to be better explanation with the instructions.

Its not a 10 X any info would be a great help

Instructions for anything can always be improved.
But I know of several people that have the 14MZ and never looked at the instructions. They did not have any trouble programming it and getting there models flying with it. Most remarks I hear about the 14MZ that it is one of the simplest to program radios they have seen.

A Jr (at least the 9303) can reverse servos in several different ways also.
I have not seen a decent factory instruction manual for anything in this hobby.
The 14 does have many different ways to accomplish the same task.
Use what ever method you prefer, that is why you have all of the options.

There's a manual with it?

Go to the FAQ section at www.14mz.com; a lot of questions answered, including how to properly setup CCPM and use Swash AFR. Yep, manual is limited to describing function and purpose. No real-world examples provided as is available in some other Futaba manual, but then again, this radio is meant to be used by folks with experience (not an excuse). 14MZ has so many different ways of doing the same thing, it probably requires a book to descibe them all (definitely not a user manual).

Thanks guys
I have only played with this radio for about an hr or so and I will just have to keep playing with it. It is very nice radio and expensive I just wish they had a better explanation for their layout that’s all. Lots of combinations more so than the 9z or the 10X that I am use to.

If you can program a model from scratch in the Z then oince you get into this 14MZ you will have not problems at all.

I LOVE my 14MZ, well worth selling one of my machines for.

I found the trick for setting up the 14MZ,

Through away the manual and work with the radio I spent all day yesterday working with all the programming and mixes. I am a little disappointed with Futaba and I will tell you why.

I tried to program it to change the channels on the satellite dish and it didn’t work
What a piece of junk. HA HA.

Now I will have to teach the owner how to use his own radio. Man he is getting off easy. I do like this radio
