Is anyone using the Intrepid Gas (or EB) with an HCS mount instead of the front-mount Observer (EB)?
I'm just doing my research on a possible AP platform for myself and would like to consider Bergen even if I do not want to go with the front-mounted camera gear.
Does anyone have some feedback about their first gasser experience...ie, whose customer service do they like?

I run a gassers and have a HSC mount. I know several people that run Bergen's with now without complaints (some actually swear by them) and Chris Bergen actually comes here. So you can wank at him directly if you want. Customer service is SO good at Bergen, they have contacted me directly about something they heard was a problem and I do not even own one yet ;)

Check my gallery for a pic of the Bergen EB with an inderslung mount. The Helicopter does great as an ap platform. If you want just take the mount of and fly the hek out of it

Yeah, that was another reason for wanting the underslung mount.
I'm never going to be great, or even *good*, at wild 3D...so a machine that shows off my ability to fly smooth would be a better 2nd ship. Also, living in northern California right now might be giving the oportunity to try the AP business from home for a stay-at-home mom. I don't necessarily want this as a full-time gig b/c my kids are #1, BUT, it would be fun to earn a little bit on the side for coffee.
Gary T: if you don't mind stating a little bit about the standard vs. EB as far as which one would benefit me the most with use for AP, I would appreciate it. Will the EB still get up and GO? I would think so since the longer boom would afford bigger blades...more disk area???

The standard gasser is running the 720 blades and is well suited for sport and 3d flying. The Eb or extended boom is running the 810 blades with lower gearing, hence alower headspeed. Believe me when I tell you it will get up and go. As you can see in my gallery I have flown it with the HCS mount. I have one of Jody's mounts for use in a promotional video I am doing and tried it several times. It is a terrific combo. Combine that with the customer service from both Begen and Helicam solutions and it's hard to beat. If you need any further info or help feel free to pm me a phone number and I will be glad to call and answer any questions you may have.

The EB is a nice and time proven machine. I liked mine a lot, it is actually still flying as Greg Alderman's Bergen Turbine! Very heavy duty and versatile machines. Bergen tech support and customer service was GREAT!!
Bergen's are definitely not cheap machines, but with anything you get what you pay for in quality of components and longevity and toughness of the airframe.

Couldn't agree more Matt, As you have found out, when set up as per the Bergen family advise they will give you years of good service no matter how you fly them.
As always the rest of the Bergen people are glad to help. I think Whirl-girl will be extremely happy with the EB. After all it is a Bergen!!

Oh yes forgot to mention a bit about customer service.
You would have been astounded at how much effort Chris B put in at the Ircha Jamboree last summer sorting out a couple issues originating with its previous owner that where making set up difficult on my Intrepid. You sure won't be neglected as it seems to be a Bergen specialty of product support. Also speaking of that, I've never called up for parts and been told "well it will be a couple weeks untill we have those in". Hehe you'll like it.
