Got my camera mount last night and it is even better then the pictures tom has on his thread. The Instructions to build his setup my 5 yearold grandsons (twins) can build it. Thanks Tom I enjoyed talking to you on the phone and am looking forward to get it up in the air and taking videos with it. I will post some videos and pictures . And one more time Thanks Tom for a GREAT mount.

Be careful how TIGHT you zip-ties the mount to the frame. The trick is tight enough for it not to fall off but loose enough not to transfer vibration ;) Also check the angle the camera is sitting at as it looks a bit canted in the pic.

Looking forward to seeing some video!

I have been on the road and when I am home the wind is blowing over 20 mph :arggg:

The wind is still blowing hard and I had about a 30 minute window so I lite it off and at least hovered it. Lift off the ground took not much more then normal. But in hover everything seemed normal until the wind took over it again. But the Raptor 50 V2 worked real well. The extender hose worked well and did not effect the engine. :D

I like the hose!! I have seen that done before and most people did not have a problem. I'm sure the tail servo likes it :D
Did you at least have the camera recording?
I am having large wind here also, power was out for about 7 hours today
Another AP guy ...I love it!

I could not wait any longer to try out the new mount. The wind was blowing 18 mph and gusting up to 30 and i flew it for 12 minutes and it did very well. I was using a cheap camera just in case. the exhaust extension pipe did very well with out any changes to the mixture. Once again thanks Tom job well done and worked as advertised.

http://www.flygsw.org/yabbfiles/Attachments/stator_gator.wmv Here is the link for the video. it is almost 4 minutes long and 54 meg. it was a cheap camera but it did what I wanted to see. I put a Sony on it and had no problems at all.

54 megs LOL. May want to cut the size and frame rate down a tad.

Was a bit windy huh? You could pop a 401 on the and stabilize that a bit.

That download took awhile. :)

John, is that one of the cvs cameas ? I have one on my t-rex and it has some similar undulations, especially during spoolup and to a lesser degree all the time. I thought maybe it was speed controller related but if it's also doing it on a raptor my theory doesn't fly.

The wind is crazy around here lately too. 25 mph gusts today.

What I used was a AIPTEK IS-DV digital camcord from Target and it cost a whole $125.00. What you see is what it took. I was hoping it would work and I am very please with it . I aslo lifted a Sony digital camcord and it took a little more power to lift off the ground but when it did it went back to a little over half throttle. I just wanted to post some vid for Tom to show him that a Raptor can do it. For a down link I use a micro wireless camera.

Here is a still picture of the heli in the high winds . It goes with the short video on top. The heli was leaning a lot but the picture turned out very well.

Very windy I would say.
Good work for such poor conditions.
Keep it up...I like it
