Hi Guys

I was looking at at Mode 2 DSX 9 in my LHS this week but the switches seem to be the on the wrong side (the throttle hold is on the left and the flight mode (idle up) switch on the right) - I dont think you can remap the switches in the software as the right side switch (that I would use for throttle hold) is spring loaded for snap rolls and the left hand switch (that I would use for idle up) is only 2 position not 3.

Is there a different version in the UK that has the same switch positions as the DX7 or do I need to buy a mode 1 version and change it in the software?

Thanks

Ben

The US version (9303) comes in Air and Heli versions. You want a Heli version.

Pinecone - I haven't seen any advertising for different versions (eg Aero / Heli). But apparently the Mode 1 / Mode 2 versions do have different switch positions - maybe i need to get the mode 1 transmitter and set it to mode 2 in the software to get the switch positions that I want (or learn to use the standard switch positions!)

I'll go and have a look at the Mode 1 version in my LHS.

Thanks

Ben

Hi Pinecone,

I wanna upgrade my radio to a 9303(dsx9) too, so do you mean that the 9303(US version) has the idle up and throttle hold switches same as the DX7?
I've seen a DSX9 at our LHS, but the idle switch is at the right side at the throttle hold at the left.

The US version comes as either Air or Heli. Heli one has the flight mode switch on the forward left, throttle hold on the back right.

Thanks a lot Terry, it's great that i don't have to shift to futaba for my radio upgrade just due to the switches that can cause disaster if i flip the wrong one at the wrong time.

Hi belkington,

I don't know if you got anywhere with this?
To my knowledge there isn't a UK version with the Flight mode switch on the Left/ Hold on the Right.

What a number of poeple have done is to open the transmitter & swap the switches over, using a piece of ribbon cable (ie servo wire) to make the connections to the new positions.
The Label will of course be wrong but you don't read them while you are flying anyway!
If you want any details of how to do this, there is a thread on rcheliaddict.co.uk

Thanks Tim

I have just spoken to Macgregor - you are correct, there is no UK version of the DSX9 with throttle hold on the left and flight mode on the right. There is just one version (for both Heli and Aero) and both mode 1 and mode 2 have the same switch positions - although they do think the DSX12 be available in versions with different switch positions!

Cheers

Ben
