Hi All
Just bougt the 1521 1,5Y and intend to use it with the Hacker Esc that came with the Ion-X
Will this work (stock ESC settings) or should the Esc be reprogrammed ?... If it should - do I have to buy the prog-box or wil "tx-stick programming" do the trick ?
Best regards
Lars

THe Programmer box is the easiest way to do it, but there are plenty of smarter people than me who use the sticks.
Here is what Chris Stephenson posted on the setup of the 77-O and the NEU. If you are upgrading from the Hacker Motor, HOLD ON during the first test flight!!
Hre are Chris's setup info for hte 77-O and the NEU 1521.

Depending on youre style of flying you might like the 52 i have flown the 52,50,48 I prefer the 48 and Chris flys the 50 in his i think for all around flying the 50 is the best.

OK - figured that the more teeth - the more tourqe - but I undestand from http://www.helifreak.com/about10753.html that this is not the case...
2 x 48t ordered....

You may want to get a 48T straight from MA nad get chris to make you one of the doubled up secondary gears. Even if you don't get the double, make sure you polish the heck out of your pinion to keep the heat down, this setup has GOBS of power.

"Straight" from MA is not so straight in this end of the woods.. however local dealer have them in stock - and I'll just make a "sandwich" from 2 gears my self

Good idea Lars. It will make the counter gear last a lot longer, this NEU has some serious torque, you are going to LOVE it. Be Sure to polish your pinion to keep the heat down on the pinion or it can melt the counter gear because with all the power a lot of heat can get generated if you don't polish it.

Lars
just polish the pinion and fly it wiht the single gear you will be fine.

Neu 1521-1.5Y unloaded on a healthy 10S pack (37 volts):
54 tooth=1800 rpm
52 tooth=1870 rpm
50 tooth=1940 rpm
48 tooth=2020 rpm
Expect the loaded rpm to come down as much as 100 to 150 rpm depending on blades, batteries etc. And of course a bit higher at the top of the charge where the voltage is greater than 37.
Polishing the pinion is a good idea.

Thankyou

Hi luke i just use a Dremel wiht one of the polishing tools for it and just polish the teeth if anything it makes the gears alot quieter and it does seem to slow down gear wear as well. As i said before it all depends on youre style of flying as well

No grease on any of the gears.
