I just got a used raptor 30 V2!!
I didn't come with an on board igniter, or governor!
Are these required/ some people told me they are a MUST for a first time flier!
Well LMK what you guy think!
Also is there anything else I should put on the bird to make first time flying easier?
Thank you for your help in advance!!

Not at all needed- either one. Glowbie attaches to right side of heli adjacent to the mixture needle,to a "remote" looks like the glow plug, if yours doesn't have one, any heli supply will. Head speed is controlled by the throttle. Finless has a couple of great set up videos that explain throttle curves, and how / why you program them for your specific flying style. My 30 has its third engine in it, never seen a gov. When I'm ready for stick banging, then the gov will get installed in the present build. Hope this helps:thumbup:

I agree, first time fliers Especially should not have a governor, I believe its Very important to learn and know exactly how and whats going on mechanically and understand why it works, throttle curves, head speed, everything entailed with setting up a heli before moving on to adding electronic functions that do it for you. Additionally be cheating yourself of important information about setup. I think it would be somewhat of learning how to walk without crawling first. A very important stage of development. As with being a RC heli pilot

Yes. training gear.

Nobody actually " flies" their first time.. or third time.. or 7th time for that matter.. rare occations 12 year olds that play too many video games may.. though the outcome is usually rather messy..

Yes training gear is a must it will save you money! A simulator will save you much more!! As for nobody flies the first time absolutely the opposite.Everybody flies the first time you can't help it lol. Just make sure as soon as you see daylight under those skids you set it right back down. Now breath and do it again alittle more daylight and repeat.Pretty soon you'll be flying and breathing at the same time. THEN YOUR HOOKED LIKE THE REST OF US. Good luck

Ahh, way back when. I do remember just driving my heli around on the street like a car on the training balls the first few tanks. yes Flying and breathing.. then there's flying, breathing, and blinking. Then finally the knees stop trembling....

thanx guys you have been a big help, I have yet to fly my heli!!
i have started it, and let it idle through 1/3 a tank of fuel, to see if the engine works, cause it seem like it has low compression, compared to rc cars, IDk if this is a ringed piston or not, but it runs!!
