700, YS
Im getting pressure from the engine filling the tube on main tank, but no pressure out to the Header tank.
I can disconnect line from header tank and run the header tank dry, eventhough the line coming out of the main fuel tank is disconnected, no fuel is pushed out.
I pulled the line off and blew into it and fuel came out, started the engine, Pressure was coming out of the line from the engine.
I can pump fuel in and out with my fuel can, all filters clear.
would a partial blockage somewhere cause this?
Also, as far as Inline metal filters go. I checked it, clean. inside I saw a spring and center floating part,
are they designed to flow one direction only or flow freely back and forth.
Thank you

The check Valve is only flows one direction

a hobby store operator told me yesterday otherwise, but I had my doubts, thank you.
is the check valve necessary on the Ys,

yes. it is a must. it is what maintains the preasure in the fuel system.

I took mine apart, it flows both directions, I hope this is a cheap Fix for a change.

Thanks Steve.

A new check valve runs about $7. You might want to pick up a couple of them. They can go bad. I change mine about once every 6 months, or so.

I checked mine before installing...could only blow in one direction. That really sucks if you got a bad one. Sounds about like some of my luck.

Maybe try to disassemble(if you haven't already) the check valve and ensure it's not clogged with something that may have gotten in there during production or shipping.

did you take it apart and blow through both pieces ? (don't do this by the way)
I did and the thin small clear !! piece that maintains the seal went flying. Luckily i took my other one of my 50 apart very slowly and see hoe it was made up. Found the little thing on the floor after a while with a flashlight and i've been good.
the little file mark / cut mark side goes to the engine , if backwards it will block all pressure.

That metal thing is not a filter, but a check valve. If you took it apart, that's probably why it allows flow in both directions now. Get a new one and don't take it apart. If you suspect a blockage in it, hook it up to the output of your fuel pump and blow a liberal amount of fuel through it to clean it. Never a reason to break them apart. I found this all out the hard way, in fact.

Check valve is definitely Bad.
do I need to buy a specific one or is it one size fits all?

the YS check valve is best. But, any of them will work

You really should use ONLY YS check valves. They have a specific cracking pressure that will prevent splitting your fuel tank, in some cases.
