I normally use my FF9 for fixed wing Mode one ( throttle aeileron Right, Rudder elivator left stick.

I now wish to use this transmitter for a Heli also but on mode three. ( throttle tail Right, cyclic left Stick). The problem is that the transmitter is set to default mode one heli which means that the rev up and rev down mix which should affect the throttle and tail rotor to compensate for torque now affects the throttle and the right and left cyclic. JR transmitters give an option to change the mode in the menue's. Does anyone know if the FF9 has this option in one of the menue's?

Changing Modes:
Hold down the Mode and End buttons while turning on the Transmitter. The screen reads "STK-MODE". Change this to the
correct mode. Note that this will NOT change the throttle and elevator rachets, etc. Those are mechanical changes that
must be done by a service center.
[Note] While changing modes, the transmitter transmits in PPM mode even if the set-up mode is PCM mode.

The above is from page 15 of the 9C and 9C Super instruction manual. The 9C here in the USA is the same as the FF9.
I know on the 9Z changing modes will just change what each stick operates. The 9Z still has to have an a resistor change in the electronics of the radio for the mode/stick to operate like it should.
I don't know if the 9C is this way or not. All you can do is change the mode and see if the mixes operate like they should.

Thanks for your help. I have found the relevant page you advise, it is No 12 in the UK manual of the FF9. I presume the change is not stored in the heli menue memory so when I change back to fixed wing mode 1, I will have to change the mode back again. Regarding the 9Z, I have changed the mode on my second hand transmitter from mode 2 throttle left to mode 1 throttle right. This change is not for the faint hearted! It is neccessary to take out one of the printed circuit boards to change over the throttle ratchet and also the stops on the elevator gimbal. After changing the surface mount resistor you mention a full software re-set is neccessary and this can only be done by having access to the 'secret' service menue of the transmitter. You need a special bit of kit to do this which fits into the CAMPAK slot. Refer to the following web site for a full explanation and the cost of the memory module which includes the ' secret service' access software www.model-gadgets.com Regards Tony

Yes I have one of Angelos Campac's I know how to calibrate every thing needed on a 9Z.

But to default the 9Z to the mode that it is changed to from originally. A resistor needs to be changed on the circuit board. If that is not done, the 9Z will not function as it should after the electronic and mechanical mode change are done in the radio. That is what I was referring. I don't know/believe the 9C/FF9 requires a resistor to be changed on the board to function properly after a mode change.
