I have a 14mz and spectrum module. After successfully programming and flying two helis, I went to the third heli and cannot get things to work correctly. There is some kind of mix between the elevator and the rudder servo. So I think that I must have done somethhing wrong so I try to re bind a heli that is already set up correctly on this spectrum module and same thing. It took a well programed heli with no other changes except rebinding and it now has mixing between the rudder and elevator. I am assuming that my two week old module must be bad, but would like to hear opinions and other things to try.
On heli #3 I put back the pcm receiver and programming was no problem and flys great.
Thanks

That's wierd. The module only sends or conditions the signal to the proper bandwidth, it should not be changing any programming...

I have noticed that when switching between PCM and 2.4 on my 12Z that sometimes the type of PCM changes, from SPCM to APCM, requiring me to go in and change it to the right modulation. Probably more of a programming bug than what you are seeing...

Programing bug...I know I know. :arggg: I have spent hours dorking around with this then slept on it and did it more for hours. I have 90 that has been programed with the spectrum module and it works great, but I don't dare trying to bind it again.
What is weird is that I can get it to work almost correctly by putting the rudder servo in the elevator slot on the receiver (even though in Function, it says elevator) and viceaversa. this way the rudder works correctly, but the elevator servo in the rear of the ccpm will not work together with elevator movements. Now I have tried changing between traditional Futaba Pcm receiver assignments and the Spectrum (or JR) assignments and it ends up mixing the rudder and elevator servos.
I have tried initalizing everything back to scratch and same thing. This is all tried on now two different helis.

Forget what the channel function on the Spektrum receiver says. The channel assignments are set by the transmitter. You must plug the servos into the channel numbers as if it were a Futaba receiver.

kinda figured it out. I used airplane programing to find out what the radio is telling the receiver what is rud, ail, ele, and rudder and then I used function to put these to the corresponding joystick.I will test heli in air tomorrow, but it looks like this 14mz likes to give mode 1 when using the Spectrum and naturally goes to mode 2 for 7s mhz module.
Question, do they have different mode 1 and mode 2 spectrum modules?

The module only encodes what it's getting in. The mode that the transmitter is operating in simply maps controls to channels. You need to set the transmitter to the mode you'd like it to operate in. Futaba transmitters output the channels as follows:

Channel 1: Aileron
Channel 2: Elevator
Channel 3: Throttle
Channel 4: Rudder

This is how the channels will appear at the receiver - regardless if it's a Futaba or Spektrum receiver.

As I'm not familar with the 14MZ programming, it may be possible to 're-arrange' channel outputs. So that's something you may want to look into as well. The outputs as I've listed them above are Futaba defaults.

rearanging channel outputs is exactly what I did and it works! So long as I can get it to fly my models, I don't care if it is Mode1 or mode2. I am starting to believe that this used radio I bought is an oversea radio. Thank you all for your replys! I am new to helifreak, but love helifreak as talking out problems with people or typing problems out with people can help wether someone tells me exactly what is wrong or just helping to point me in new directions.
