I am trying to fly the 9z in contest flying (precision hovering).
Every time you push the stick through the center position it clicks.
It is very annoying at best. Is there anyway to get a smooth motion
from the stick.

1 year old. It is just notchy in the middle. Most of them are somewhat like this. It messes me up in that smooth hover.

Hmm.. I have one, it's as smooth as silk. No notchyness, almost too smooth! :D
I'd contact service on this.

Rich,
I took my 8u apart to see how the tension is done. There is a very sudden change in pressure direction as the stick goes through the center position. This is what is bothering me. I work with delicate machines and this is like someone hitting the transmitter while I am flying. I might get used to it. No one else using my radio has a problem.

I finally know how to program a 9z. I am not moving.

The spring tension can be adjusted. Take the rubber pads off the back on each side. There is a hole to access the screws that adjust the stick tension for both axis on the right stick and for the rudder on the left stick.
