Stratus open tail or close tail box

I am getting Stratus, should I change from open tail to the closed tail gear box?

Why should you?


Ive heard of the open boxes with the older style black gears and the roll pin failing at the hole going through the shaft, shearing off. On the gassers and glow machines. So far I dont remember reading or hearing about the new ones with the dimples in the shaft failing. I am running the newest version of the output shaft with excellent results. I havent drug my tail in the ground and I dont plan on it also but I totally believe it in 100%, if I didnt I wouldnt be running it. So I say go for it.

I'm also running the newest version of the output shaft with no problem at all.
Didn't have problem with the old shaft either. Both on Stratus and Spectra.
But I change it just in case.

Go for the open tail box. So easy to inspect it and set the gear mesh.

Just my 2 cents.

Which gearbox do they supply now?
