Alright, Attractive heli, but are you capable of controlling one?
Alright, this thread is for people to feed back their stability of the heli when it comes out. I was told that this heli is going to be extremely hard to control, and from another guy, that the heli would be like a 450. Lets create a prediction now, and we'll compare our helis with that.
We'll answer questions like: Is this a good first time heli? Does it handle like a 450? I can hover my 450, should I get one? Can I do living room hovering? Is it easy to do 3D with? Can I learn on it the same way like a 450, but with cheaper crash costs? And adding onto those questions. |

since when was 3D easy? If a Gaui 200 is controllable im sure this will be.
I dont think it will be a good first heli myself. |

No, I will definately not be able to control this. But that does not stop me from wanting to take a crack at it. Or cracking it up I guess.

Hmm it's not that it's hard to control a model of this size just that it's the opposite of going to a larger heli. Like say if you went to a 50-90 size heli You'd have to slow your timing down , with a 200 you'll have to speed your reaction up becuase things happen with a model of tha tsize a lot faster than on a 450.
Good as a first heli ? no way, I mean there are some people who started with a Gaui 200 and swear by it but it makes learning aerobatics a lot more difficult. I'd say it's a good 2nd or 3rd. They do fly great for their size but honestly IMO to enjoy them you'd have to have a very good grasp on flying to avoid crashing it alot . but overall you could learn on a 200 size just like a 450 except that you'd have to fly lower to the ground and closer to yourself to still have good orientation .

hey if you can control your 450 and 600 good you can control a 200 , just have to be a little faster on doing everything. Just don't expect to do full 3d in a garage and you won't be disappointed

I have had a Lama v3 for my first so I think I should do ok. I can hover in all orientations and fly too although ofcourse the more practice the better.
I'm going to use my wait time to practice more on the Lama. |

Heres what most don't recognize. to the guy above me, if you are flying a lama v3, STAY AWAY FROM THE 250. This is supposed to be the world's most squirely heli, just go with a T-Rex 450SA. It'll be the same price.

I would think you could tune it just like you can any other heli/radio combination

The T-rex he was referring to the SA is the economic version of the Rex 450 . It sells with motor and esc for 199 USD. The only thing would be the batteries which would make the SA quite a bit more than a 250

Is this a good first time heli? NO
Does it handle like a 450? No I can hover my 450, should I get one? NO Can I do living room hovering? Yes depending on the size of your living room or if you want gashed furniture Is it easy to do 3D with? No Can I learn on it the same way like a 450, but with cheaper crash costs? NO and no.. b/c you will crash more, which = more parts = more $$$ = same as a 450 This comes from my experience w/ the gaui 200... they dont like low headspeeds, they dont like any "traditional" style TC's (use a flat TC only). Even when you get them flying "good" they are so damn twitchy and un-stable it makes flying it a headache more than enjoyment. IMO

Hey, if you have a Lama and think you can fly, think again. I tried one of those and it practically flies itself. You'd better get a good simulator and learn how to fly first! It's not even close! Sorry!

What I am saying is, you are making a statement that may deter someone from purchasing something based on what you said, that has no merit what so ever. And if you want to blame it on your LHS, say that. MY LHS SAID THAT....
