I've just recently installed a TJ Pro on my R30 w/ os 37. I get a flutter sound coming from the engine when there's no load on the rotor. (0 degrees pitch) Everything sounds fine when under load and the headspeed is right on, The headspeed isn't effected when its fluttering either by the way. I have several cases through this engine before the govenor was installed and I thought it was tuned pretty well. Lots of power and not once has it fluttered like this using my own throttle curves. I have a video of it doing it but my camcorders base doesn't want to cooperate right now. Is this a engine in need of some more tuning or is there an adjustment somewhere else like on the govenor?

By the way this heli got a new metal head and duralite system at the same time. I got to say I love them all so far except for this little problem.

The only sugestion I can offer at this time is simple....

Goto your throttle curves and lower the % about 5% mayber 10% and see if that fixes it. Let me know.....

I have never heard or seen an engine flutter. But since you installed the new metal head and the problem started. I would think the fluttering is coming from the rotor head. You might want to look at it more closely.

I thought of that too. My tracking is right on and everything is well lubed but I will recheck everything on that. I forgot to mention this before but do I need a special servo for the throttle now. Currently I'm running a S3151 that came with my radio setup for the throttle. Is this fast enough of a servo for the govenor? I thought it might not be and start hunting under the no load condition. It is a digital servo so I'm running under the super servo mode on the govenor.

If I find nothing wrong with the head I'll try the servo in standard mode and see what it does there too. I might even try to adjust the needles alittle more. Guess its just a trial and error kind of thing. Thanks for the replies. :)

super servo setting is for digital servos. the other setting is for "Non-digital" servos.

The 3151 is a digital servo. So if it is suppose to be in Super Servo mode when using a digital servo then your correct.
All the servos I have used with a governor have had transistion speed of .22 down to .07. I personally never have been able to tell any difference in how the governor controls the engine with a faster servo.
The motor can still only react at a given rate to changes in the throttle.
