Belt CP Flights #23+24: Morning delight!

I flew my little Belt before work today. What a little delight! It's now very stable and hovering great, even with light gusts.

I bumped up the head speed further -- now that I'm used to the high head speed of the HK-450/Trex.

New heli pilot here! I've mastered my Lama2
now try to hover my Blade CP pro2. After third battery pack I landed hard with my trainer gear and since then the heli spins now. No visual damage how do you stop it from spinning? Trims are all centered:(.

HK-450 Flight #3+4: Finally in shape

Posted 04-19-2009 at 06:30 PM by nasukaren

Some nice flying this afternoon with my HK-450. I put the training gear back on. Figured out that the tail rotor shaft had wiggled itself out of alignment. Fixed that. Tightened the belt which had slipped (again) -- need to figure out how to get that in better shape. Also, the motor pinion kept slipping so put in a new one -- a 13T, hope it will be OK.

Switched blades to the stock black and yellow glass fibers. They actually aren't too bad. They were out of balance / weight but they...

HK-450 Flight #2: Backyard crash!

Flew the HK-450 around my backyard a bit but the bird still needs more tuning. I didn't attach the training gear as I should have and it was being very unstable.

I botched a landing and the blades kissed the dirt. Surprisingly, the feathering shaft was OK but the flybar turned into a wet noodle. The blade coverings on the end of my wood blades delammed a bit but I think I can save them.

On closer examination, there were more things wrong with it.....
