First Crash

Well its a very cold morning here in Somerset around -2. I'm very new to the world of RC Helis. I have been flying for only a week or so and I have had loads of time on the sim (phoenix)

BCP broken parts: 3x Feathering shaft; 1x Main Gear; 2x Control linkage; 1x Main shaft; 1 x Main rotor blade set; 1 x Main boom; 2 x Boom supports; 1x tail rotor main casing; 1x Main rotor control link; 2x Flybar shaft; 1x Main Gear; 1x Tail blade; 1x Tail Rotor Front Pulley; 1 x Tail Blade holder

Tail gear stripped

Not really sure if this was a result of crash #3, but after I repaired my Belt CP and took it for a spin, the tail rotor gear was stripped.

Belt CP Crash #3 Damage

2 x Align Pro 325 blades
1 x Main boom
2 x Boom supports
1x EXI plastic tail rotor main casing
1x Main rotor control link
1x Flybar shaft
1x Main Gear
1x Tail Rotor Gear


Then I took my ES600 out for its maiden. Its tail rotor hit...

Another Phoenix Video (orientation training #6)

So I have decided not to log my sim time quite so anally but I am still trying to record sessions as often as possible.

Here is one from a couple of days ago.



I am slowly making headway with nose in flying and hovering but it isn't quite instinctive yet.

I can chuck it about a little though now flying 5-6 mins with a few loops etc thrown in and I normally finish the virtual pack without a crash. Not long before I try this in real...

Crash Fix

So last weekend I had a little unscheduled meeting with terra firma (flight #135) and I have finally got round to fixing the B400 back up.



The usual suspects needed changing, feathering shaft, main shaft, flybar, tail boom and tail boom supports. Surprisingly the main gear survived so I must have hit TH quick enough but the force not absorbed by breaking woodies (I was running carbons) has...
