Well here we are in November…Thanksgiving is only 22 days away! Gobble! Gobble!

I went to the flying field without the guys this time as I wanted to get some personal flying time in. 1) test out 4 heli’s, 2) get 10-12 flights in, and 3) work on some new and old maneuvers…sorry guys. So, first up…

The last day of October…WOW, that was fast!

This Saturday we turn the clocks back! Ouch! One less hour of daylight, man that sucks! I called Bob Tuesday to see if he wanted to go out flying…it was really nice outside after work. Bob said yes, but needed to finish getting his motor installed and set up. Well that took a 1-1/2 hours and left us with a couple of flights.

I brought my Whiplash Gasser and Electric. First up was the electric, I wanted to see...

Heli update!

Whiplash Electric: I installed a ZTW Gecko Series 120A HV (High Voltage) Brushless ESC OPTO (No BEC) in my Whiplash Electric that I picked up at the Schaumberg iHobby Show. Why, because I haven’t sent the CC 120 HV opto ESC in yet. I’m a bit leery using a CC ESC in my Whippy…I don’t like fire balls! …or flying smoke booms… So I bought something different to try and now it was time to test it out, not to mention the weather was perfect.

Here we are in October! Man, this year is flying by! I’ve hear rumors this winter could be a bad one…but once again, they’re just rumors!

Ok, my Team Heliproz Whiplash Nitro heli is back in service! I replaced the piston and ring, cleaned the scratches in the cylinder, and installed a new glow plug. Well September is almost over and fall is finally here!

Earlier this week, Bob and I got together to work on his Whippy. He ordered a new 990 carb, hoping that would fix it. And as luck (Murphy’s Law) would have it, there was a scratch on the cylinder wall from the boss pin retainer. This caused a slight loss in compression, hence the reason why his motor wouldn’t idle. So he sent his motor in for repairs.

I finally finished my Whiplash Nitro this last Friday. Saturday...
