Drake Sirlit It was actually the screws that I'm pointing to in the attached picture. Its odd because there are two screws (one on each side) that would have needed to back out... It didn't look like there was any other damage on the piece so I don't think they fell out in the crash. Threads seem good too so I don't think the screws pulled out. I'm pretty Damn sure I made sure everything was loctited well when I assembled it. I did forgo the pre-flight checks though, never making that mistake again. Live and learn.

Edit: also found out that both my aileron and elevator servos seem to be broken. The pitch servo seems fine.

macdad I have had issue with the screw backing out on the align Helis as well. You could do as others have done... Get a longer screw that will stick out the other side of the mount (mine was threaded all the way through) and put a lock nut on it.

Drake Sirlit Had my first crash today. Was doing flips about 50 feet up and the tail lost control. I believe the screw for the pivot point in the tail shaft fell out. Tail torque tube bent all to hell, feathering shaft, main shaft and dfc links all bent too, and one of the servos does not have its full range of travel. Going to learn how to repair a helicopter.

Drake Sirlit Just wanted to dump these pictures here. Thanks again everyone for the help on this build.

Glad you have it sorted out now. Happy Flying!

Drake Sirlit You are correct there, I didn't have the throttle curve correct. Thanks.

Are you using a 0-25-50-75-100 throttle curve? When programming the esc you have to have a linear throttle curve.

I would also double check your setup on the bench without blades on after you change the esc settings. I messed up once and turned off my soft start. On spool up it ramped up to full throttle instantly. Good bye tail gears lol

Drake Sirlit Haven't gotten the chance to take it up again with any tweaks but during the week I realized that I had forgotten to do any programming with the ESC. Well, I just did that and for some reason when I was programming it it was recognizing actual mid-stick on the transmitter as high stick and mid stick (the middle option) was between low-stick and mid-stick on the transmitter... I don't think I'm doing anything wrong but this is certainly odd to me because the manual says the middle setting should be set with the throttle at mid-stick..

Blade Scraper Looks like you have some vibes in the tail. First thing I'd try is tweaking the tail gain and see if that helps.

Drake Sirlit Not sure how well you can see it on the below video but this is my first hover test. Seems to be a bit shaky and I'm not sure why, almost looks like something isn't balanced properly.

Drake Sirlit Figured out that I was looking at the wrong manual for my firmware version. N is actually the governor setting. I don't have a sensor so I turned it off. I do have another question on how to adjust the tail gyro gain though. My first hover the tail was oscillating. The manual for the beastx talks about the gain but doesn't seem to go into detail about adjusting it. Thanks everyone for your help on this project so far, you've all been awesome!

Blade Scraper When I bought my MicroBeast Plus, I picked up the USB2SYS cable so I could do the setup through StudioX instead of through the radio, and update the BeastX firmware at the same time.

Drake Sirlit Thanks for the quick reply, those videos were very helpful. I am having issues on step n though. The swashplate is not tilting itself at the beginning of the step... Any thoughts?

CrashNburn420 And these for setting up the micro beast. I would watch them first and then watch each step again as you do the setup.

Microbeast V3 - DX6i Setup (2 min 15 sec)
02-06-2016 06:19 PM
Drake Sirlit I'm a little confused on how I need to set up my dx6i. I'm setting up my microbeast plus right now and it says do not use eCCPM and instead use mCCPM if you can. I only have two options on my radio, CCPM and 1servo90°. Which one do I need to choose? Anyone know of a set up guide for dx6i for the 450L?

EjectEjectEject Great to hear - and thanks for the update!

Drake Sirlit Thank you so much Eject. I fully seated the gears (I found out it was both the front gear box and the back gear box) and they both turn freely now. I'm waiting on batteries to complete this build. Hopefully I'll have everything by this coming weekend. Also, I don't think the tear was there to begin with but the bubbles were, I believe the tear happened when I repackaged everything.
