Joe Bailey I've been using dry ptfe lube on my gears, the stuff used for push bike bits.
It sets and isn't sticky so dust won't stick to it.

Slyster White lithium grease is very common.. any hardware store, car store, Menards, Lowes, home depot etc. I like the little tubes that look like tiny toothpaste tubes with a screw on cover.

It's also the same grease you use for dampeners and servo gears.

irishmatt18 What local place do you get it at Sly.

Slyster I use white lithium lube... sticks well.. plastic safe.. but really.. many lubes will work.

JustPlaneChris Reasonable and local: I use Sil-Glyde from NAPA, part number 765-1351. It is a silicone grease made for lubing brake caliper pins. It's non-melting, non-freezing, non-gumming and weatherproof. It's thick, like vaseline. Won't harm rubber or plastic. A little dab will do ya.

OnTheSnap I use MolyKote
