I'd also like a "go-ahead" from Mick to do this as its his design originally. Does anyone have his email address?

Thanks, I may leave them installed.

I had a look at cross frame bracket, but it's too intrusive, I don't really want to drill holes in the frame.

swalko Friday ordered, today received . Jan's frame stiffeners look really solid, double washers as are on pictures posted previously was replaced with single 2mm thick washer. I am satisfied .

Chris_M I talked to heli21 and he may make a run of aluminum braces if enough people are interested. I think they were $50 each even though he only had a couple made last time.
