This set-up has really suprised me. The graph below shows 10 minutes at 1500 rpm; with this pitch range, flybarless head & head speed, the performance is brisk to say the least.
The A123 voltage will sag alot so give yourself plenty of head room where voltage is concerned. You can see that even in the middle of the pack the voltage dropped to below 17 volts, thats over 34%! but the head speed didn't budge. The strong point (IMHO) of the M1 cell is it's ability to provide amps and lots of em, NOT hold voltage. This setup with no load will deliver ~ 3000 rpm yet the workable head speed without to much bogging seems to be ~1800 rpm.
The spikes are straight up climbs and Drag runs.
I cannot speak to the longevity of the 600 plus motor under such conditions (over 2200 watts). I have only logged a handful of flights. The Century motor is only spec'd to 70 amps.
I plan on a gearing change and some 1300 rpm runs. I believe 14 minutes is not out of the question for non-3D flight.
