Default XL tail boom

Hello All

I tried the Xl tail boom on my poseidon! that's a new bird!!! Amazing
the behavior is very different. Enjoy it!
the CF boom is slightly bigger than alloy boom but with a litlle drop of oil , no problems .
Thanks to Dave from Mars480 for the trick.

I fitted the C/F tail on my Mars and, yes, it is like a new bird. I was having a high-frequency tail wobble with the original boom. I tried to get rid of it with the gyro gain settings but never got a really solid tail. When I fitted the longer C/F boom I was able to stabilize the tail and get better handling.

BTW - I didn't have any trouble fitting the C/F tail boom after I spread the boom clamps.

usually, I fly with the normal boom but i don't have wobbles problems
I had stabilization problems but they came from my tail servo. Not enough powerful to stop accuratly the tail.
I changed it for an MKS 9670A+ . no more problems!

Might be with the Xl tail boom, i could use again my old servo because:
the extra lenght of the boom gives a most important lever arm thus the torque needed to stop it is less important.

Salut Rupi

Yes, the Carbon fiber tail boom is the XL boom.
the standard model is in alloy and is shorter...

Lot of fun with your poseidon.

Ok,thanks fellow Gazaur "fathers".
I have some problems with the 45A v1 Scorpion esc/2221-8 motor. We used the v1 progr.card and the pdf. manual but the headspeed is too low. A new 3s 2450 25c lipo should deliver enough, but the throtle response is very poor/slow!
Maybe 11T on the motor is not enough, but still the throtle response should be a litle more powerfull??Maybe any of you can help me out here?
I`ve been into heli just 1 year so the road to knowledge is long for me....

How do you have your throttle curves programmed in the transmitter?

Hi rupi,

Firstly, You must tune your throttle curve accordingly to your pitch curve (by the way, how mutch pitch range do you have?)
For this step, hear the sound of your rotor (or measure) when you push your stick at full pitch.
the most import thing is to keep a constant head speed. so fine tune your curves to obtain this.
after that if your heli doesn't response enought quickly
change you pinion for a bigger...

In my opinion, 11T with a 3500Kv motor is good for learning to hover and small translation....
with a 13T pinion, your rotor head will spin faster. you heli will response faster ( on all axis)

find below, my curves for 13T+4100KV motor + 325mm Blades.

we found this on mars480 web site, it applies to the LINGO 55, but its made by scorpion, so the same may apply.

In order to obtain full power from the ESC, the following procedure will apply: turn on transmitter and push throttle to full position (check throttle curve to make sure you are getting 100% throttle). Plug in the ESC to the lipo, you will here "Beep-Beep", then pull stick down to zero throttle, you will here "Beep-Beep" "Beep-Boop". You are now ready to fly. Make sure you also give your gyro time to come on and initialize before moving the heli. this takes around 5-7 seconds normally.

Hello Guys,

According to step 40 of the manual, the distance between the one center point of the ball link and the other ball link should be 420mm. My question is, now that I have the extended tail boom installed, what is the distance I need to have between center point of ball links?

Thank you,
