I have a chance to pickup a mint 68b for $75.00. Has all electronics and 2 lipos, just minus the tx. I have a Dx6i but I know the heli is a 7 channel. I'm new to helis so here goes a dumb question. Can I use a 6110e and bind my tx to it? What function will I lose since the tx I have is a 6 channel. Is this even possible? Thanks for the help in advance.

I can't think of any reason why you can't use the DX6i/6110e, assuming it uses a regular type ESC. Not sure why you think its a 7ch heli, since most are not. Virtually all electrics are 6 ch. or less. There should be 4 servos and an ESC and a gyro. That's a 6 channel setup. Do you actually mean 68B or 60B? The 68B came with a 7ch tx/rx originally, but will only use 6 channels. The bigger question may be whether there are parts available as it is discontinued -check parts supply before you get too deep into it.

I know, I thought it was odd that it was a 7 channel. It is the one that came with the 7 channel tx and rx, but he doesn't have the tx anymore and that's why I was wondering if I would use the DX6i I have. Does anyone know if these are decent helis? I've never owned a Walkera.

i have a metal headed 68b on the 35mhz tx (its about 3 years old) it is currently in the attic and i doubt it will be coming out again. i didnt like it, but we all like different things. the main gear seemed to strip by just looking at it, it was half decent stable when new, but an interaction with a greenhouse and a brick wall ended that. i have the parts to get it in the air again, at the time parts were not cheap, but when i last looked for something for it about 6 months ago, the prices seemed ok. its a nice size heli, outdoor flyer but i just think there are better helis out there and more stable.

Hi Chris20,
The Walkera 68#B has a NOR main rotor head, the Creata 400 has an improved main rotor head design. The working parts from the Creata 400 will fit the 68#B. You can compare the spares at these sites: http://www.helipal.com/spare-part_wa...lkera-68b.html http://www.helipal.com/spare-part_wa...reata-400.html Have a look at what’s available at this site: http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet/StoreFront Regards Yayan |
