Has anyone noticed that:
In many sports there is a "playful" rivalry between different divisions: Helis vs Planks (obviously) Skis vs Snowboards Mountain bikes vs Road bikes Just wondering if anyone has noticed any others. |

We even have rivalery in the plank divition between acro pilots and warbird pilots.
Normally it doesnt show that much but during warbird weekend it no doubt about it.

Sadly, yes.
I have just changed clubs as I was the only heli flyer and was shunned to the 'heli' section of the feild all on my own. I was even overlooked by club members who went to the field and just wanted company. My new club has about 10 heli pilots.

Skis vs. snowboards died as soon as new school skiing started to developed... Nowadays the only boarders that don’t get along with skiers are the 'frat boy' types... and the only skiers that don’t get along with boarders are really old school. snobby and closed minded type... I have not met one in years. I ski primarily with boarders... I only know/ride with 2 other skiers.
However… I will never get along with inconsiderately ignorant people who think they are above safety rules, skier or boarder. After all, getting hit by somebody doing 60 mph on skis or a board because they thought they don’t need to yield is not fun and can be fatal… But I see what you are saying... so to add to the list as you requested. How about Salt water anglers vs. fresh water anglers PPC pilots vs. all other pilots Rally vs. NASCAR (oh no I didnt...)

My biggest vs headache (othat then helis vs. planks) is bass fishing (me) vs. the huge wake board boats (them). It's such a clash of using a common resource.

Watching some cars go around an oval is about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Too complicated? In NASCAR, 'composite' = Bondo! They have not even really gotten their heads around fuel injection- but then, that has only been around 70 years...

Toe strikers vs heel strikers in endurance running. That's a funny one because although many (maybe most) people's footstrike (the point each stride first makes contact with the ground) is with their heel, in front of their centre of balance, striking with a toe or midfoot stance beneath your hips is unquesionably superior in pretty much every way. I say 'pretty much' to be polite. The argument-ender is 'try running heel first, barefoot on concrete and see how far you get'. Not far. Of course, the same thing with a toe or midfoot strike is perfectly acceptable and many African runners go barefoot until they're in their teens. Heel striking is enabled through overbuilt modern 'joggers' (the first Nike Cortez was the first to raise the heel in 1972, which was its gimmick - prior to that runners wore racing flats) and biomechanically, the stride is unsound. The only real disadvatage to toe striking is it's very hard on the calves initially and they need to be carefully built up first. This is painful, so many runners stick with heel striking and just argue it's the same. It's not. But the golden rule always is everyone do what they like, and we should never forget it!

Nah, it's flyfishermen versus everyone else.
I love my fly fishing (salt water) but some of the guys act like utter plankers. I guess it's a superiority thing with it stemming from being a "gentleman's" sport.

And all of a sudden, I think I've just realised why you get a 90.
