I'd definitely scrap the canopy since the tip of the nose is trashed. It's not even worth keeping as a beater IMO.
I had an almost crash last Sunday with my Atom 500. I was practicing inverted banked turns and lost orientation. I must have thrashed the heli around for a good 10 seconds before I finally recovered it. The biggest part of the problem was that I forgot to put my sunglasses on; they make a tremendous difference in clarity. Sorry to hear about your crash. I've had one that bad with my Atom and can sympathize.

Sorry your ship went in, Sly.
Been there, done that, unfortunately. I am sure you will have it rebuilt and flying in no time, sir.

Sly,
Sometimes these things go a bit easier (or, at least seem a bit easier) if you stock up on parts, a bit at a time, in advance. When I order parts, I order a spare boom here, a spare gear there, a spindle, a landing gear strut, etc. Most of the time, I have the parts to fix my Compass machines on hand, should something ugly happen. If I don't have all the parts on hand, the financial impact is still less, if I don't have to buy a lot of parts. (all of which reminds me that I should pick up a set of side frames for the Atom and the 6HV for spares). One can take this a bit too far (I still have several new canopies and windshields for Hirobo Falcon 808's I have had since the early 1980's).
