Default Trim flight - clarification

Ive just purchased a 750 and im almost ready to do a test flight..

With the trim flight you use the trims to achieve a stable hover and flick the Norm/AVCS switch x3 so the 750 "memorizes" the trim setting.. My query is, after the trim setting have been memorized do I recenter the trims? (Assuming the 750 now knows these settings) or do I have to leave the trims where they are?

Quick answer is NO, do not recenter the trims. Do the flight in Norm, adjust the trims, when you get it how you like, do the Norm to AVCS three times to end up in AVCS... if you have done it right... the heli should hover without drift in AVCS.

If however, you don't switch it enough times, take to long, or otherwise mess it up... it will drift in AVCS until you have to recenter the trims... I found this out the hard way that this is incorrect.

I generally land before switching back to AVCS after trimming in normal mode. That way the swash is level when it memorizes the new settings.

Ok.. Thanks.. Seems a bit strange that it supposedly memorizes the trims settings in normal mode and yet you still need to have the trims set.. Anyway, thats the way it is, so thats what ill do..

Better way is to adjust linkages mechanically after trim flight to get it as close as possible without using any trim in the radio.

What adverse effects are realized by leaving them swash trimmed electronically?

Futaba recommends mechanically adjusting the T/R but does not say that for the swash. I wonder why the difference?

it doesn't work like that. its really just training it to ignore the trim.

all trims in all flight modes have to match. make sure you set up combined trim mode in the 8FG, that is the easiest way to make sure they all match. .

I made the same mistake. the instructions are very misleading. and make the trim flight seem more important then it is.

How do you put the 8FG in "combined trim mode"?
