Default Burn in Hell Flybar!

To create some uniformity in the way my two minis fly, I just finished converting unit 1 to flybarless with the low head, Edge 325mm fbl blades, short balls on the outer swash, and the AR7200BX. ( Unit 2 is a stretch with 350mm + Microbeast). Well, I thought I liked the way it flew before, but now, flying this thing is just bliss! I know I'm a latecomer to Mini Protos, and flybarless, but blimey, HOW GOOD IS IT???

Glad you're loving it. I think that the FBL is awesome, too. I'm getting ready to put in a AR7200BX, as well, but have been flybarless for over a year or so and really like it.

How big of a difference is there between your stretch vs your non-stretch?

In my opinion, a big difference. Big blades, big power. The larger disc + slightly longer boom gives you a bigger bird which is a bit better for visibility, but aside from that, the stretch feels like a "big " heli compared to the stocko. The lighter disc loading is really obvious - 350mm blades + 6s gives you a lot of altitude control/accuracy. Maybe "collective control" are the words I was looking for.

I strongly agree with Chris, but it's very hard for me to explain to my friends that the stretch feels bigger because when they compare my mini with one of my friends stock mini, there isn't much difference between the length (blades & boom). so in the end they felt that it does not justify the price that they pay for, for that much of length...

I'd like to get a "bigger heli" feel and have contemplated selling the p-mini and getting a p-500, but if the p-mini stretch will be a significant difference than I'd like to try that. I don't have a super big space to fly in so I'd like to stay with the smaller heli but don't want to spend the money on the stretch and 6s conversion of the difference isn't significant.

It's significant.

Well, I'm in. I ordered my low head, stretch kit, 1300Kv motor, and batts today. I couldn't stand reading about all of the fun without joining in. :-)

Will do.

I had been planning on going 6s since I bought the heli a year ago but was on the fence about the stretch. If it gives me a more floaty, stable feel than I'll love it, I'm sure.
