I just wanted to post up and let everyone know I did my first back flip today with my 450 Sport. It was also my first time flying in IU. I am really excited. Everything is coming together between the sim and the MCPx. Right now I am waiting for the wind to die down to around 10 mph so I can keep flying.

I did try a second one today. I was not completely level when I attempted it and I ended up going sideways. I was glad I was about 40 ft up or I would have hit the dirt. I also hit another milestone today. I did my first nose in hover and side in landings. I thought if I can do it on the MCPx I can do it on the 450. It was not as hard as I thought it to be.
As for the wind I am kind of happy with flying in it. It was not that big of a deal. The only thing is the downwind turns the heli really picks up speed. I could cover the parking lot/field in half the time it would take me to come up wind. Also, I noticed my tail would kind of bounce around in the higher wind when I was not exactly straight on with it. Is this natural of a 450 or do I need to look at my gyro again? The tail was holding great in pitch pumps. I was not getting any bounce when I did a few half piros either. |

Well done, keep at it. With time on the sim, trying moves on the heli is not as hard as you think. Most of the time it is just getting over the fear of doing it for real the first time.

well the fear and the thought of the money its going to cost if you byte it
thats the nice thing about a 450, I lost tail 2 days ago flew it into a run in stall for horses and it cost me less than 20.00 to fix (TH is a life saver) had that been my 600 275-350.00

Thanks guys for the compliments. I really feel that the MCPx has helped tremendously. I am now able to do all of the things on the 450 that I can do on the Blade. I think it is just the fear of crashing and having to take time rebuilding is what holds me back. Today though I just jumped in both feet. Now I am wondering when that is going to catch up with me.

Congrats man! Every time I do something new I get excited. I remember the first time I successfully hovered a full pack on my Blade CP in my bed room. You'd a thought I won the lottery.
