Switching everything to XT60s. Is there a recommendation for what goes where. Female on the battery, or does it matter?

It does matter if you would like to follow convention. The female bullet one goes on sources like batteries. The shrouded one with male bullets goes on devices like speed controls. That way you match the standard use

Note the gender of a connector is determined by the metal bits, not the plastic housing. Xt60s put the FEMALE bullets inside a MALE housing. You want to put that one (in the pic above) on the battery as it is much harder to short than the other end (a bit of metal can short the pins on the male connector more easily).
