Purchased an iCharger 106b because I didn't think I needed a power source for it. Now I need a power source. Any recommendations?

You need a power source for all decent chargers that go over 50W.
Any 12V source will work. I've used my car battery, deep cycle batteries, LCD monitor power or laptop power supplies from eBay, and computer server power supplies. Deep cycles are awesome as you can charge anywhere... 125Ah Maxx Marine deep cycles are cheap at walmart ($90) For AC power supplies these are great and very popular... I have a 42A model. http://www.feathermerchantrc.com/

The 106b needs about 13.8v to reach full power (see attached chart). However, many charging scenarios will not require that. I would size your power supply to your charging needs. What size packs will you be charging?

So this will work?
I have 12 volt 500 watt power supply setups for sale. These are modified hp server power supplies pulled from working servers. They output very clean, very reliable power. You will receive 1 power supply units as shown. Ready for any high powered (or low powered) battery charger such as: Icharger 306b Icharger 3010b Powerlab 6 Powerlab 8 Hyperion 0720i +many more The outputs have 6" of 12awg w.s. deans ultra wire and 4mm banana jacks. Does not include AC power cord, units accept a standard computer power cable. Specifications Input 100-240V 50-60Hz 8.6A(max) Output 12V 47A(max) - 575 watts(max) |

Sounds like the HP DPS-135PB, same unit as FeatherMerchant is selling (see Slyster's post above). Yes, it will work but you will not be maxing out your charger. 220 watts on 12v vs 250 max. That may plenty depending on the cell count and size of the packs you are charging. That is the reason I asked What size packs will you be charging?

Sounds good. The maximum you will need is about 140 to 150 watts. That power supply will work. Current wise, its overkill for what you need today. But you can use with second supply for 24v to support a 1000 watt charger down the road.
