You need an USB interface.

After reading this thread I'm working on getting this setup on my Mac. I am so fed up with AeroFly and all the silly adapters. Seems like something is always messing up and I'm having to redo stuff for the transmitter to get it recognized.

I used the free version a lot with a Dynam controller from xheli.com.
I always love to brag on the flying fields in this sim. I never could get my DX7 to work with it though. I used it in Linux.
