I have the DX-7 (Heli ver) and a severly modified CP Pro similar to what Buildem336 has done. Brushless main with CC Phoenix 10 ESC, Brushless tail with Thunderbird 9 ESC. Has anyone ever set up a Futaba GY401 Gyro without a servo? There's tons of posts about the 401 with a servo but none with an ESC. I've got it hovering with reasonable tail holding but that all changes when I punch the throttle.
Thoughts, Tips, Radio settings??? Thanks in advance. |

Make sure the GY401 is in digital mode, then tune the gyro so the tail almost wags in a hover...
The GY401 should be rock solid if you have a half decent BL motor on the tail. Happy Flying! |
