Hitec HG 5000 - 5083 MG servo - erratic behaviour

Hello all. I started having problems with my gyro / tail servo. If I give a small left rudder input (and the servo is off-centre), the servo will jump all the way to neutral. This however does not happen if I give small right inputs. It results in an over-rotation of about 90 deg. every time it happens. I have switched to analog servos to no avail.

By the way, the 5083 MG will work with a logitech 2100 as the #1 servo (just like the HG 5000). Unfortunately I'm having the same problem with the Logitech.

I've discarded radio problems since the problem does not occur when using the Align GP 750.

Any ideas / suggestions are much appreciated
