Default Hirobo parts pricing

Hello, I am getting back into heli"s and I am considering 3 different 50 size machines and the SDX is one that was brought to my attention today. How is the pricing on the parts compared to Align and thunder tigre raptor? I know Hirobo has a long history with heli's and from what I know they are great machines so they are catching my attention.

All of the Japanese helis are more expensive - usually the kits and the parts. So, Hirobo, JR and Kyosho fall into this group. The Taiwan stuff - Align and Raprtor, are usually cheaper, and Align is like way cheap with respect to parts.

All the above are good choices but you will pay more for the Japanese stuff - but I buy it anyway!

Thanks Ots I know Hirobo is a fine machine and I think it's definitely a front runner for me. I'm seriously considering an SDX.

I'm sure you would be happy with the current 50 size offerings from all five of the companies mentioned above, and the SDX is no exception. If you get one pay close attention to the build tips for it on these forums - there's some good info available.

Not true about JR. Vibe 50 parts prices are very close to the ones of the T-600. Some parts are cheaper. Hirobo is always more expensive. JR SVE6S (Vibe 500E) and Hirobo Lepton have the same tail belt. But hirobo is selling it 30% more expensive than JR!

I should also say that the Outrage Velocity 50 made a strong impression on me. Very well made and light.

I would have to second this, From what I have seen HIROBO are way more expensive and i would seriously factor this into a desion of what brand to go with.I have a old shuttle and the parts now are twice that of other makes.this can be a bit of a pain when you hit the deck!

I agree that all are good choices but IMHO get the SDX. I bought a Raptor Titan 3 years ago then a Hirobo EVO 50 as a backup a year later. Now I fly the EVO 50 much more than the Titan because I like the way it flies. Last summer I picked up a Freya EVO 90 and last month a Lepton EX. Hirobos are like a cult thing, once you get one you can't stop. This year I might sell the Titan and get an SDX.

Sure the parts are more expensive but unless you are planning on stockpiling a lot of spares or crashing frequently the parts cost to me is a non-issue. The quality and stability of the Hirobos make the extra cost worth it.

Great choice Vinnie! I think you'll love that machine. As you've heard throughout this post, part cost for the entire Hirobo line of helis are more expensive, but that's because you're getting a higher quality than you will anywhere else.

Many people criticize Hirobo for being a "plastic model", and as a Hirobo rep, I find myself always having to explain to people that even though it's a plastic frame, Hirobo is known for producing some of the best injection moulded plastic parts in the industry. When compared to other manufacturers, it is night and day difference in the quality and finish.

Vinnie, I'm glad to see that you chose the SDX. You have just acquired one of the hottest new 3D helis available and I am sure that it will meet ALL of your expectations and more. Let us know how that build goes and we'll all be looking forward to hearing your impressions.

In Canada the distributor has single handedly killed the market no dealers carry them anymore at all ,so I have stopped buying them and switched brands to what I can buy at a realistic price for me it is Century,I never once had an issue of quality with Hirobo buy getting ripped off $30 for a fuel tank etc has ended my run with Hirobo,I had e-mailed Hirobo direct in turn he forwarded my complaints direct to the distributor..idiot.

With the internet I don't need a local shop to stock parts.
You can shop prices and save pretty fast.

The three biggest are:
Heliproz
Ron's Heliproz South
Model Rectifier Corp. - US Hirobo Distributor

There are some other places that sell SDX parts but those are your best bet.
