Default FIXED - Tail drift in HL !

I have bad tail drift in heading lock mode with my 3G v2.1 mounted on a 700E.
The rudder servo is a DS650.

Any idea to fix this ?

pad being used?
Strap? not super tight...
Gain on radio?
is it a slow wag drift? or drift only no wag?

Mine had a tail drift and tail also kid of wagged. I played around with mounting tape combinations and got rid of all of it. I now use on all my helis a soft double sided tape then a metal plate(spartan makes a good one) then thinner tape and then the sensor. Sometimes a strap and sometimes not. I am a solid believer in the metal plate being used on all helis. When you get it right the heli will be solid but yet will flip in its own length. If the sensor is exposed to to much vibration the heli will fly like cr@p.

Thanks guys.

It is a slow drift with wag actually.

I'm using the Spartan double sided tape + Spartan plate + Align foam then the sensor above this set.
No strap.
My gyro's gain is 57 (within the AVCS upper range, from 50% to 100%). Radio: 12FG.

I have found the same problem with the 3 3G's I have on a 500, 600E, and 700E. I added in some delay and it smoothed it out pretty good. I was also able to up the gain just a touch. Another thing I have been doing is moving the ball in at the servo to run a higher gain to hold the tail a little better. I still have a little wag in a hover, but it's not drifting. I am only using the Align tape (1 or 2 pieces, can't remember) and HK 4mm tape. No strap, no plate. I think the plate may be a good idea though. I just need to make some here at work...

I don't know how the delay parameter acts actually? Is it something like an adaptation to servo's speed?

I'm not sure exactly what the delay does, but I think it just adds a very short pause to the servo correction to dampen out the wags. All I know is that it helped tame the tail down for me when in a hover, which is the only time I could see anything. In FF everything was good.

Hey.

Delay is basically used to counteract a slow reacting tail servo, adding delay to the gyro slows the tail correction commands to give the servo a better of keeping up.

If you have the 3G link cable try removing some heading lock gain from the tail, I have a friend who had a similar slow wag and by reducing this parameter it's now gone.

Thanks for the explanation guys.
I'll try to reduce the "rudder lock gain" asap.

Just to keep you updated: my tail behaviour is OK now
The solution for me was adding a strap
So, to sum up, my final & working sensor mounting setup is: Spartan double sided tape + Spartan plate + Spartan thin tape and sensor WITH strap.
