Default Build Problem with EP 425 Basic Kit

Hi,

I'm halfway through an EP 500 build, and i am having a little problem and need advice from somebody who has built one of these before.

For the Cyclic Servo's, i used the Spektrum digital servo's that came with my DX7 TX, but it does not seem to have the right sized servo arms.

The build instructions which i have found to be pretty good so far, indicate that you use a round sort of servo wheel and you need to drilll your own holes that are not 180 deg apart.. more like 190 or 200.

Is there a way around this, or where can i buy the required servo arms/wheels ?

The way it is now, the arms i am using on the servo's dont seem to be giving enough throw even on the outermost hole. I can only seem to get 8 deg + or - pitch and it isnt the same on both blades and i'm getting quite a bit of swash interaction when moving the pitch cyclic up and down.

What did you do ?

thanks,
Michael

Default Build Problem with EP 425 Basic Kit

Hi,
My earlier message should have read.. Halfway through EP 425 build, but i think you get what i meant.

I assume that if they work for the EP 550 that it will also work for the EP 425 ?

Also, i was wondering just how well these birds fly if you build them correctly ? I was going to get a Hughes MD 500 Fusalage for it, or build a HK 500 for it.

regards,
Michael

To all intents and purposes the 425 is the same as the 550 except for the belt, boom, tail blades, paddles and blades, so they should fit fine - the ones that I linked to say that they are for Futaba servos - they used to do them for the JR ? SPektrum servos as well - I'm not sure what difference there is if any.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about scale stuff, hopefully others will

This platform should work well in a scale fuse. Jr vs futaba horn difference is in the spline.

Sent from my brain using technology.

You can also order the offset CF adapters for Spektrum/JR servos directly from CHP's site.

I use the large JR servo wheels (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdId=JRPA216). The offset is perfect and they're very cheap. My local hobby store keeps them in stock.

Here they are on my setup: http://www.helifreak.com/showpost.ph...9&postcount=42

+1 on the JR wheels.

The CF adapters are not splined, they need to be mounted to an arm anyway.
