Default Cheapo Beamo

I've had several crashes due to ignorance and stupidity with my Beam. My first attempt of flying my brand new carefully built Beam resulted in it self-destructing before even getting off the ground.

So I've decided to set up a second "Beater Beam".

I've purchased $6.49 blades- http://www.cnchelicopter.com/servlet...450-all/Detail, an $11 Turnigy Typhoon motor, and a $23 Turnigy Plush esc.

I've come to accept crashes and realize that I don't need first rate parts to break.

I also found the the SOS plane locater-an amazing device that sounds an 86db alarm so I can find tie Heli if I go down in the cornfield behind my house:

They make a nifty battery monitoring device the turns on a bright beacon on the Heli when the battery voltage goes below a user programmable point. It let's you fly without fretting with a timer and worrying about battery condition:

I'll let you know how this setup works once I get it going.

I run a Typhoon in one of my Beams, no problems at al with that motor, it's very capable indeed.

Those 6.49 wood blades can be found elsewhere on the same site for $5. Dunno why.

Have you tried the cheap blades? I bought a set and they don't appear to be very strong. Align woodies are more expensive but seem stronger.

For cheap blades, I use these : http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idproduct=8396

Balance is usually spot on from factory and flies very well. Higly recommended.

They look similar to Rotortech 320s

Look like they perform too, I'll have to get a set.

Sorry for the slo reply. Yep I've got 4 pairs and only crashed one. I dont have a digital scale, but they feel really light and seem to be balanced.

I have one set of wood night blades and at least 3 more in the works. They take a little more pitch to fly but not much. I've got the lipos on the underside of the blades. Works great.

Outrage has 350mm blades for the G5, just thought I' throw that out there. Got a set of those too, havent flown them yet tho.

Will the 350s fit without a stretch?
