Yes, if you are just hovering around. They should make the heli more stable. I don't recommend for 3D.

Ok, I'll stick to FB blades then. Not that I'm doing any 3D but
I just don't hover around anymore. This hobby is getting sophiticated. I think I'm gonna stick with stock 5.5 blades, its simpler.

That,s the size of the root I have to look for, 11mm ?
I saw some Edge blades FBL 473mm with 10mm root = $59.99 For FF flight, figure 8's for now that's about all I fly. And for Sab from 430mm to 550mm nothing in between. If ever, which one 430 or 550.

You're not going to find 11mm root blades. Should be 10mm roots. Your grips will vary, but the size is 10mm.
So far I really like the SAB's. They are definitely quicker on cyclic than the 5.5 520's, but of course have less collective authority--having a narrower chord and being shorter. They are very, very stiff and have a nice finish. |

It's weird that the Compass grips are never 10mm. They are always too wide to use without spacers. And I've found that most spacers are about 1mm thick, too, so you have to either use only 1 spacer or make your own thinner ones.
But it works... |

I dont know about availability in the US but I have just learnt that spin blades do a 515mm blade with a 10mm root
http://www.spinblades.com/index.php?...&product_id=76 Ive always been put off stretching my atom due to the compass blades being all black (I dont like black blades lol) but I might have to give this some more thought if I can get these blades easily

That is good news. I'm sure that if SB finds a US distributor, that these blades will be made available.
Looks like they may be available in Canada, they have a distributor in QC.

I looked it up, NDheli not far from my home. Can't find
515mm thought and not cheap either. For now I'll go with the stock black ones.

Other blade options would be nice, thankfully the stock 515mm blades are really nice.
