Judging from the section pic, it looks like the outer bore of the grip could be bored a little deeper allowing the outer radial bearing to move into the grip further...allowing room for a spacer between the radial bearing and the inner race of the thrust bearing. Pretty easy fix if you own a machine shop...but I don't.

Mystic: do you think the wag could have been introduced simply by having a less flexible setup? I mean the aluminum grips won't flex as much as the plastic grips. Try lowering your gain a few points and trying it again.

The main benefit of the v2 tail is the ability to run lower gains which in turn provides a longer life for the tail servo per align. Also, with the v bar gov I had to lower my previous gains.

Huh? A more precise tail has always allowed me to run higher gains without wag..

Well bummer,I have a stock tail,a 600n plastic tail, the new v2 tail, and now the quick uk tail. On the quick uk are there any mods needed? You know stronger bolts or anything? With the plastic tail, any mods needed? Also have the kde v2 kit for the stock grips, are the arms compatable with all the tails?

GOT TAIL?

Hi Guys!
What I did was to install, between the trust and radial bearings, the shim that comes with the Align 450 pro main mast and it fits perfect. This shim doesn't reach the outer edge of the trust bearings.
If the grips had a very small play before, now there are absolutely no play and it's as smooth as before.
I hope this will work fine.
Haven't tested yet because I'm still waiting for my ICE2

for those of you who cant find the v2 tail assembly. why not just use the v2 tail hub. and buy 4 bearings for it. part # H60157AT it is readily available and comes as a pack of 2 so you can upgrade 2 of your tails providing you buy 8 bearings lol. the bearing part# is H60106T (MR106ZZ)

i did this on my 700 last night at its near slop free, and spins smoothly with no shims. i did notice i toned my gain down probably 10 points becasue the tail would wag at FFF

Since the metal tail grips are allowing the vibrations from the tail blades to resonate through the tail rotor hub, has anyone tried the V2 rotor hub with plastic tail blade grips, so to dampen some vibrations and increase the gyro gain.

With the KDE 2nd radial bearing mod swinging 115's, I have found the plastic tail blade grips have allowed my tail gain to be increased when compared to metal tail blade grips on the same setup.

The only way to buy them is by buying the main shafts it looks like. Anyone else find a way to get just the shims?

The shims for the 450 pro mainshaft are 5x9x0.1mm. I'm wondering if these will work:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/290559730547...84.m1423.l2649

The outer dimension is 2mm smaller (5x7x0.1mm). Should be good, no?

They should be fine as important to shim the inner race only.

I think the shim should not be in contact with the inner and outer edges of the trust bearing.
With the 450pro main shaft shim, the inner edge is in contact...
