Title says it all. I was just flying in what felt like 30 to 40mph winds. Handled it with a blade 400 no problem, even impressed myself just a bit. So I'm thinkin does HF sell windsocks on their swag site? Nope.
http://www.helifreakswag.com/ Chime in below if you might be interested. I'm not associated with selling swag on this site btw.

Thanks for your suggestions!
For a "wind sock", one needs some additional components beyond the sock itself: a pole for mounting; a "hoop" to keep the sock open; arm(s) to the pole for the hoop; bearings on the arm(s) to allow the sock to rotate with the wind. A friend of mine (Frank) looked into a permanent wind sock for our local field at OCMA in SoCal. It turned out to be a total PITA to come up with the "components". I though about this a while back, and expected it would be too expensive to offer as a complete assembly. Would HeliFreaks accept just the "sock" and make the other components? Yeah, I know we're all crafty people or we wouldn't be into this hobby. As a multi-use item, how about this? The HeliFreak logo on a velour or microfiber rectangular towel with two grommets on one of the short sides. It can become: (1) a bench towel, (2) a HeliFreak banner, and (3) a wind indicator. I realize it wouldn't react like an actual "wind sock". Whatcha' think? |

I'd like to see one blue or grey. That way they're not prone to stains too much.
Must not be too dark not to be on the hunt for screws either!

I have 2 Hobbykings..Out of the box they won't work, however with the pivot joints I made...they are great..If HF offered one, I'd buy it...There are not many options out there that are not designed for a commercial airfields

I'm imagining a durable product, made from that heavy duty stuff that the real expensive kites are made from. And available in a smallish front yard size or a big Rc club field size. Using UV and weather resistant materials for the big one of course.
Ladies and gentlemen, we have the technology. We have the capabilities... ![]()
