Hello all,
I'm fresh to the hobby and figured I'd start off on these forums properly - with an introduction! I'm a 36 year old IT pro that lives in Fishers, Indiana. My wife and mother-in-law got me these and after beating on them as much as possible I decided it was too much fun to not pursue the hobby further. I've recently picked up an mCP X, DX8, and the PhoenixRC Sim. I'm still in the early stages of learning but making good progress. Currently I'm just doing some backyard flying practicing some of the early YouTube videos posted by rchelicopterfun1. I guess that's about it! -Tyraxus Last edited by Tyraxus; 04-25-2012 at 12:20 PM.. Reason: Adding location to title. |

Welcome to the forum. The DX8, mCPX and Phoenix is a great way to start out!

Greetings! I found myself in a similar boat late last year after winning a Radioshack Gyropter at a trade show. Since then I have progressed through many models and I now fly a brushless MCPX, Trex 450, and Pitts Special foamie biplane. There's a great meeting place where folks fly nearby - pm for details. I'm in Noblesville near Verizon music center.

Welcome to the hobby, funny you chose the exact bundle I did 3.5 months ago and its a perfect start to this hobby. Phoenix sim rocks, MCPX is the perfect first heli if you put in sim practice to learn nose in and the DX8 is just awsome.
After that I went to the blade 450X, which btw is so easy to fly after you've flown the MCPX and mastered it. Stick to flybarless, I'll never own a flybar heli in my life after flying the 450X. Have fun learning, this hobby brings out the kid in us all. |

That's for all the responses! It sounds like I'm on the right path here. That jamboree looks amazing - I'll be there!
